Paul Banwell was educated in Tunbridge Wells, UK, before undertaking his medical studies at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School, London. He graduated in 1992 (MB BS) in medicine and surgery, and continued his surgical training in London to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) in 1996. His specialist training in Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery took place in London, Oxford, Salisbury and Stoke Mandeville. He has also held Senior Fellowship positions at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, and the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, Queensland.
Paul is a fully accredited specialist in Reconstructive and Aesthetic plastic surgery: he holds a UK Plastic Surgery Specialist Fellowship - FRCS (Plast) from the Royal College of Surgeons - and is on the Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery with the General Medical Council.
He is an NHS Consultant in Plastic Surgery based at the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead and holds additional clinics along the South Coast. During his time in the UK and abroad (North America, Europe and Australia) he has had extensive experience and exposure in modern aesthetic surgical practice and believes that attention to detail is vital.
Paul undertakes all aspects of cosmetic surgery but specialises in, breast and body contouring surgery and has a reputation for advanced skin care. He also has a specialist interest in skin cancer, breast reconstruction and the management of scarring. Paul is a renowned melanoma specialist and heads the new Melanoma and Skin Cancer Unit (MASCU) at the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead.
