CET Workshop: Dry Eye and Glaucoma Updates

Dry Eye and Glaucoma Updates will be delivered by our pioneering specialists, Consultant Opthalmic, Corneal and Refractive Surgeon Samer Hamada and Consultant Ophthalmic and Glaucoma Surgeon Gok Ratnarajan.

Members will earn two points by attending the session. The event is workshop and discussion based. The key competencies covered are ocular disease and ocular examination. 

Dry Eye

The first part will be two lectures delivered by Samer Hamada on the diagnosis and management of dry eye disease as per the new DEWS II report findings. This will be followed by open discussion and Q&A to gain an understanding of the new trends of diagnosing and managing dry eye disease.

The second part will be a workshop with peer discussion around the use of corneal topography in diagnosing dry eye and extending that to the various other applications of corneal topography in daily practice.


Gok Ratnarajan will go through new surgical innovations in glaucoma (MIGS) and discuss the pros and cons of each. By the end of the session you will have a good overview of these surgeries and which of your patients may be suitable for these. The surgeries discussed will include:
- Endoscopic Cyclophotocoagulation (ECP Laser)
- I stents
- Xen gel implants
- Cypass implants
- Innfocus microshunt

The next part of the session will be an interactive, case based discussion. This will enable an understanding of diagnosis, investigation and treatment of different glaucoma cases.
