As we age, our skin begins to lose its elasticity and youthful glow. This can often leave you feeling dissatisfied with your appearance and can lead to a loss of self-confidence.

A mini facelift will help to rejuvenate your face, tightening the skin and removing minor sagging around the cheeks, jowls and neck area. The procedure helps to restore your confidence without the need for more intensive surgery.

Why might you need a mini facelift?

A mini facelift can help to refresh the look of your face, offering a return to a more youthful appearance. It can also be used to restore self-confidence and fight the visible effects of ageing.

What are the benefits of a mini facelift?

A much less intensive procedure than a traditional facelift, some of the benefits of a mini facelift include:

  • Reducing the effects of ageing
  • Tightening the skin for a more youthful appearance
  • Restoring confidence in your appearance

What does a mini facelift involve?

During the procedure, your surgeon will numb the area around your ears before making several small incisions either in front of or behind the ear and along the hairline if necessary. The skin and underlying muscle will then be separated and lifted before being stitched into its new position.

The procedure usually takes one to one and a half hours in total and will be performed in the minor operations room of our outpatient’s department.

As with any surgical procedure, there is always the risk of complications. Specific complications of a mini facelift include:

  • Damage to the facial nerve
  • Infection of the wound
  • Swelling or bruising

Recovery Time

On average, it takes approximately two weeks to heal fully. Some level of bruising and swelling should be expected initially, although ice and sleeping with extra pillows can help to reduce this. The scars should be massaged and moisturised for at least a month following the procedure. You may also need a follow-up appointment with your surgeon a week after surgery in order to review the results of the procedure.
