Why Choose A Private Breast Check At The McIndoe Centre?

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting women, but regular breast checks can make all the difference. While it’s recommended that women perform at-home breast self-examinations once a month, many feel unsure about the correct technique, and often prefer the reassurance of a professional check.

Our local private Breast Check Clinic offers a thorough, confidential breast examination with a registered Women's Health Specialist GP, in a welcoming and supportive environment at The McIndoe Centre in East Grinstead.

We’re here to help you feel confident and empowered to take charge of your breast health, providing peace of mind and improving your ability to confidently monitor your breast health moving forwards.

Is This Breast Check Right for Me?

This test is ideal if:

  • You’re aged 25+ and want reassurance about your breast health

  • You are not confident in performing regular at-home breast examinations
  • You’ve noticed changes such as lumps, pain, or skin changes

  • You have a family history of breast cancer or other risk factors

  • You’re not currently eligible for NHS screening or want a more personalised assessment

What's included in my breast check?

You’ll have a comprehensive medical assessment where you can discuss your personal health and family history in a private, relaxed setting. A female GP will then perform a thorough breast examination, ensuring your comfort throughout.

After the examination, your GP will explain any findings clearly and provide tailored advice and guidance specific to your situation. If anything requires further investigation, the GP will arrange a referral to the appropriate service.

All of this is included for just £89, with no need for a GP referral or NHS waitlist. It’s a private, compassionate, and proactive way to take control of your breast health and gain peace of mind.

Breast Self Examination (BSE)

If you notice any of the following, speak to a healthcare professional:

  • A new lump or thickening in the breast or underarm

  • Persistent breast pain not related to your menstrual cycle

  • Changes in breast size or shape

  • Skin changes: dimpling, puckering, scaliness

  • Nipple discharge, inversion, or rash

How often should I perform an at home Breast Self Examination?

Breast self-examinations are best done once a month, ideally a few days after your period ends, when breasts are least likely to be swollen or tender. If you're postmenopausal, choose a consistent day each month.
