Victoria | Tummy Tuck and Breast Uplift

Patient Story: Victoria

Following four pregnancies, Victoria was left with excess skin and fat on her abdomen that she was unable to shift, so she was delighted to discover that a tummy tuck and breast uplift could be carried out at the same time.

Victoria, 44, from Maidstone, had been on a two-year weight-loss journey, initially through exercise at the gym. When progress plateaued, she found weight loss injections helped to achieve her desired weight, but struggled with how her stomach and breasts looked.

Victoria discovered Miss Alexandra Molina, a Consultant Plastic Surgeon, through thorough research with her friend. After watching Miss Molina’s informative videos online, she went ahead with the first consultation to discuss her options.

“The toning of the rest of my body I could do,” said Victoria. “I just wanted to get rid of that last bit. I’d wanted a tummy tuck for a long time but never had the confidence to do anything about it.

“Miss Molina put me at ease straight away. She was really professional. I asked if I could have a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) and breast uplift (mastopexy)  and she said yes. It's a vulnerable position to be in, but I trusted her from the moment I met her.”

A second consultation confirmed what surgery would involve, details about recovery, and ensured all questions were addressed.

Tummy Tuck Surgery (Abdominoplasty) at The McIndoe Centre

Tummy tuck (also known as abdominoplasty) procedure provide solutions to patients who are looking to rid stubborn fat pockets as a result of pregnancy, weight loss or the natural aging process. This procedure will give you a firmer, flatter abdomen.

Victoria explained: “I wasn't worried about surgery. I’ve never had a bad experience with an operation and I trusted Miss Molina like you wouldn't believe.

“The anaesthetist was incredible. In previous surgeries, I’d felt groggy all day after waking up, but he got it spot on - I was alert and chatting in recovery.

“Miss Molina also corrected my diastasis recti (when the abdominals separate during pregnancy) and created a champagne groove, which looks fantastic.

“I had the same nurses throughout my stay, so it was nice to build a rapport. I felt so cared for and listened to. There were no issues and I didn’t have to prompt anyone.”

Post surgery, Victoria had one drain, to remove excess fluids, and stayed at The McIndoe Centre for two nights. Her recovery involved no driving for three weeks, no heavy lifting, and only gentle activity.

Victoria returned to The McIndoe Centre one week later for a check up and again at two weeks, where Miss Molina was happy with her progress and how the scars were healing.

“You have to be gentle with yourself and listen to your body during the recovery stage,” said Victoria. “If I wanted to sleep, I slept.

“The McIndoe Centre was phenomenal. It was a great experience and I’ve already recommended it to several people who want to get booked in.

“The scars are tiny and the results are perfect - better than I could have imagined. I’m shocked to see my before and after images side by side.”

Before & after

“Victoria had worked really hard on losing weight and getting as fit as possible before her surgery, so we were able to combine breast uplift (mastopexy) and tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) surgery in her case. She had asked whether she needed implants, but using the lower breast tissue as a “natural implant” during a mastopexy can be very effective. I am so pleased that she is doing well following her surgery.”
