Professional profile

Miss Alexandra Molina is a UK trained Consultant Plastic Surgeon and is on the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery.

She graduated from Cambridge University with Distinction in 2005 and started her Plastic Surgery training in 2008. During her training she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Biomedical Education. In 2015 she was awarded the Intercollegiate Fellowship in Plastic Surgery or FRCS(Plast). For her outstanding performance in these final examinations she was awarded the McGregor ‘Gold’ Medal.

Alex has completed two prestigious fellowships at St Thomas’ Hospital, London and Queen Victoria Hospital (QVH). She then worked as a locum consultant, performing principally breast surgery, at the Royal Marsden Hospital, before taking up her permanent Consultant post at QVH.

In 2017-18 Alex was awarded the Lady Estelle Wolfson Emerging Leaders Fellowship at the Royal College of Surgeons. She has recently become the Clinical Lead for Breast Reconstruction at QVH and maintains her interest in teaching, with a responsibility for the registrars’ training. She has two young children who keep her busy in her spare time!

Patient story: Antonia Moss

When Antonia discovered a thickening in the skin of her breast, she contacted her GP and obtained an urgent referral. Further investigations revealed a Grade 2 Invasive Lobular Carcinoma.
