Professional profile
Chris Macdonald studied for his degrees at University College London before discovering his passion for plastic and reconstructive surgery and undertaking a broad surgical training in London, Hertfordshire, Essex and the South East.
After completing his plastic surgery training at internationally renowned centres across the South East, Norfolk and the West Midlands, Chris was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons and completed esteemed fellowships in skin cancer surgery and aesthetic surgery before undertaking advanced training in Boston and San Diego (USA). He worked as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon in the Midlands where he established a successful cosmetic practice before returning to his family roots in the South East.
Chris has wide-ranging surgical expertise in a variety of surgery for the breast and body. He specialises in repairing changes brought on by weight loss, the aging process and pregnancy. He is a member of specialist interest groups for cosmetic surgery safety, microsurgery and body contouring surgery.
Chris’ research interests include improving patient outcomes and safety in plastic surgery. He has previously presented his work on improving stress incontinence and pelvic floor symptoms with abdominoplasty surgery to the Royal Society of Medicine.
