Mini Facelift

As we begin to age, our skin becomes weathered and the signs of ageing uncomfortably visible. Facelift surgery, clinically known as rhytidectomy, is a procedure that helps to rejuvenate your face and restore your youthful appearance by tightening the skin and removing sagging. Facelift surgery is popular worldwide and can help renew your self-esteem and confidence with a natural, fresher look.

What Does Mini Face Lift Surgery Involve?

The results of the mini face lift will vary from person to person. Much depends on the technique and experience of the surgeon, so it is essential that you research to get the best surgical outcome.

To perform the mini facelift procedure, your surgeon will numb the area around your ears before making several small incisions either in front of or behind the ear and along the hairline if necessary. The skin and underlying muscle will then be separated and lifted before being stitched into its new position. The procedure usually takes one to one and a half hours.

What Are The Benefits Of A Mini Facelift?

  • Feeling more comfortable in your skin
  • Boosted self-esteem
  • You should appear more youthful
  • Restored definition of your jaw and profile

Is Mini Facelift Surgery For Me?

You may be wondering if a mini facelift is for you. There are several signs that could indicate why a mini facelift might be the best decision for you:

  • Your skin is sagging or you have noticed a decline in the firmness of the skin of your face and neck.
  • If you have deep creases around your eyes or the corners of your mouth.
  • If you have tired facial features that lack the youthful firmness they once used to.

Recovery After Mini Facelift Surgery

Depending on the extent of the surgery, the recovery time can vary per person. On average, however, it takes approximately two weeks to heal fully. Some level of swelling and bruising may be expected but this can be reduced through sleeping on elevated pillows to help reduce the problem. Thoroughly moisturising and massaging the scars can also help to reduce the swelling and enhance healing time.

One week after the surgery, you will be required to attend a follow-up appointment allowing your surgeon the opportunity to review the results of the procedure. You should attend all follow-up appointments with your surgeon so that your progress can be closely monitored and any post-surgical complications quickly dealt with.
